Feel

Caviar numpad caps beside the tray

Cerise is our interpretation of the classic Cherry profile, the low, sculpted profile Cherry drew for its own keyboards in the 1980s. Each of the four rows has its own height and angle, so the face of the key meets your fingertip square wherever your hand sits. The tops are gently dished, so your fingertip settles into the key.

Cerise's surface has a fine, even texture, but is also matte enough to give the fingertip some grip.

Sound

Caviar box, keyboard and trays

Cerise is a natural fit for a brighter, clacky sounding build. The caps are ABS. It's a lighter plastic, so each keystroke resonates more.

Legends

Caviar on a keyboard in front of its box

Every legend on Cerise is doubleshot. This means each keycap is moulded in two shots of plastic, the base colour first and the legend colour second, so each legend is a solid piece of plastic that runs all the way through the top of the cap.

Because the legend is its own plastic, its colour is not limited by the cap beneath it. The edges of every legend come out as crisp as the mould that formed them, with no bleed and no fuzz.

FAQ

What switches and stems is Cerise compatible with?

Cerise keycaps are compatible with MX-style switches. Cherry profile was drawn for MX stems in the first place, so the set fits any board that takes standard MX keycaps.

What is Cerise made of, and how are the legends made?

Cerise keycaps are moulded in ABS with doubleshot legends. The cap is made in two shots of plastic, the base colour first and the legend colour second, so each legend is a solid piece of plastic that runs all the way through the top of the cap. Nothing is printed on the surface.

How durable is Cerise?

The legends cannot wear off, because they are plastic moulded through the cap rather than ink on top of it. ABS itself will take on a light polish on the most-used keys after years of typing, and pale colours can yellow slowly if the set lives in direct sunlight.

Which layouts does Cerise cover?

One kit of 185 keys covers everything. It fits full-size, TKL, 75%, 70%, 65% and 60% boards, in ANSI, ISO, HHKB, Tsangan, 1800 and Alice layouts.

How thick are Cerise's walls?

The walls are 1.5mm thick.

How do I care for and clean Cerise?

Wash them in warm (not hot) water with a little mild dish soap, scrubbing gently with a soft brush, then rinse and let them air dry fully before putting them back on. Skip solvents and anything abrasive, which can dull the surface of ABS.
